Built in 1900, this two-story structure reflects the vibrant commercial history of The Avenue, a multicultural hub that thrived as a gateway between downtown and the city's residential neighborhoods. As Texas Avenue grew, the building adapted to the city's changing needs: Furniture & Supplies: From 1926 until the late 1950s, the building was primarily occupied by furniture companies and restaurant supply stores. Vending and Music: Between 1961 and 1982, it was home to Sam’s Music Company, a prominent vending and novelty machine operator. Revitalization: In 1984, the building became a pilot project for neighborhood revitalization.
